WALKING FOR A CAUSE!!!
We are walking for a cause at Greenburgh Academy! Please sign up with Ms. Payton if you would like to walk for breast cancer awareness. We will be walking on Monday, November 15th during 7th period. The walk will be lead by Mr. Crews and Mrs. Peterkin. Donations of $1 per block are being asked for to support the cause. Teachers can sponsor a student and donate $1 per block for them! A total of 6 blocks will be walked which means $6 per student for the full walk. Please give all donations to Mr. Crews or Mrs. Peterkin. PLEASE all staff and students WEAR PINK in observation of the day.

We had a blast for Fall Fest today! There were food items on the grill, student-made baked goods, pretzels, pink lemonade, popcorn, gourds, flag football and other games. Here are some photos in review of our spirit week. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

Photography students in Ms. Binns' class are creating a miniature landscape for diorama photography in the photo studio. It will be portable and be able to be moved outdoors in natural lighting as well!

Ms. Mead's class' mural looks great in the art wing, right next to our new school monitor Mr. Johnson's post!

Today was Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead day for Spirit Week here at Greenburgh Academy. It was a blast! We have a large Latino population at our school and in Yonkers, and we even have some non-Mexican students who participated in Mexican folk dancing growing up, so it was a welcome event overall. Students participated in the secular 'ofrenda' to memorialize someone they know who passed away (real life, or famous artist/celebrity). Our very own student Jana participated in face painting her fellow students along with select staff members. Special thanks to the Art Department and ALL other departments for allowing the coordination of the event!

Our Halloween celebration was a hit! We saw so many great costumes not pictured here. More pictures will be made available to the GA community soon, and sooner upon request! A special thank you to Ms. Payton for organizing the whole shindig!

🐔🐔🐔HATCH ALERT🐔🐔🐔
Ms. Muller has informed us that over the weekend 9 baby chicks have hatched! We witnessed the hatching of some more this morning! Life is beautiful. Also, look at the chick helping the other chick hatch, that's what we're all about at Greenburgh Academy --helping beaks, well, helping hands.

Staff-Student Volleyball Tournament tomorrow 10/20/21!
